Carine Roitfeld has not just been working on her new fashion magazine! This stylist has been collaborating a limited-edition collection with Mac Cosmetics this fall. Carine is known for her dramatic smoky eye and sultry look, so we can kind of see where this collection with be headed. She has helped in every aspect of making this from the packaging to the containers. This collection will be launched as of September 6th with everything else going on in Toronto like Fashion Nigh Out and the Toronto International Film Festival. As a former Make-up artist I can’t wait to check out this Limited-edition collection. Roitfelds collection ad campaign was shot by Mario Sorrentiso, so make sure to get out Sept and get something and enjoy.

Today is the launch of Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin’s collaboration with Mac Viva Glam Lipstick and Lip Conditioner. This Collaboration premiered today in North America through to February 2013 (with the international launch on March 2012) at all Mac Locations and online maccosmetics.com. The lipstick is $14.50 U.S/$17.50 CDN and the lip conditioner (tube) is $15.00 U.S/$18.00CDN. Every cent of the selling price supports the MacAids funds which goes to help Women, Men and Children who are living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. These two hotties have teamed up for this great cause and it is Mac’s first time introducing a male celebrity in this campaign. This time instead of only having Nicki Minaj signature on the lipstick they have introduced a lip conditioner that has Ricky Martins. So now is the time to go out there and buy some of this great product and help out a great cause at the same time.
Two weeks ago I got the chance to work on this wonderful event and run the Giles Deacon show and other backstage duties. The British designer was in town showing his collection for the event Lunch with Margaret and George. George and Lisa Corbo the owners of George C one of Toronto’s hottest designer’s boutiques for stylish men and women in Yorkville has partnered with the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation raise money for the Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre. While I was busy backstage with Mac Cosmetics and Alcorn Salon making sure all the models were runway ready for the show, the guests were treated to a Champagne cocktail followed by a sumptuous lunch at theScarpetta restaurant at the Thompson Toronto Hotel. This sold out event raised $200,000 which was just marvelous.
“In 2009 Princess Margaret Hospital’s breast cancer rapid diagnostic centre received a $12.5 million donation from Emmanuelle Gattuso and Allen Slaight, who have since matched donations dollar for dollar towards the $25 Million expansion campaign. The couple’s fundraising campaign is part of the inspiration behind Lunch with Margaret and George.”
The event was a smashing success and the show went off without a hitch. I was so lucky to have worked this event, meet great people and work for a great cause. The next day I helped do Giles Deacon PR while he did some interviews at his Trunk Show at George C in Yorkville. Giles was such a pleasure to work with and a very warm loving personality with a great talent. One thing is for sure his collection was out of this world and nothing I have seen or ever worked with before. I would like to thank Leesa Butler for giving me the opportunity to work this fantastic event. Also George and Lisa Corbo deserve a big thank you for putting this great event on for a great cause with a very talented designer.
