M.A.C Viva Glam Fashion Cares 25 Line-Up
Chairs Michael King and David Furnish announce that Scissor Sisters, Janelle Monáe and Sky Ferreira will join Elton John to perform at Fashion Cares 25. The evening will be hosted by my favorite fashion icon Linda Evangelista and celebrated designers Dean & Dan Caten of DSQUARED2.
The list of renowned Canadians who will be taking place are a Molly Johnson, Billy Newton Davis, Carole Pope, Jarvis Church, Jully Black, Kreesha Turner, Keshia Chanté, Elise Legrow, RyanDan, Anjulie, and Shaun Desman.
They evening of music and entertainment will also feature a number of extravagant runway presentations. Vivienne Westwood, Greta Constantine, Pink Tartan, Gareth Pugh, Manish Aurora and DSQUARED2. Guests will also be treated to a quarter century retrospective that highlights the glamorous event’s most show-stopping looks. As well, a striking selection from the costume archives of Elton John will be on display.
The AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) and Elton John AIDS Foundation present a compelling evening of fashion, entertainment and philanthropy. Attend a red carpet cocktail reception with canapes and drinks as 25 years of Fashion Cares is recalled through images, film and live models at the Sony Center.
The evening concludes with a fashion show. See some of the top international designers and unique fashion pieces, including the costumes of Elton John. Sir Elton John will also perform at the event alongside other musicians. “” Hoax Couture and the are thrilled to collaborate once again with the Stephen Lewis Foundation on the third Dare to Wear Love gala fashion show. African-inspired designs, created by more than 25 Canadian designers, will hit the runway at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 16 during World MasterCard Fashion Week at David Pecaut Square in Toronto.
A limited amount of tickets to Dare to Wear Love are open to the public and available to purchase online for $75 each or $300 each for a VIP package (which includes one front or second row seat, a special gift bag, and exclusive access to the cocktail parties before and after the show). Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Stephen Lewis Foundation and its community-level organizations that work to improve the lives of women, orphans, grandmothers and people living with HIV and AIDS in Africa.
Talented Canadian designers including Brian Bailey, David Dixon, Adrian Wu, Paul Hardy, Linda Lundström, Pat McDonagh, Izzy Camilleri, Lida Baday, Greta Constantine, Lovas Wesley Badanjak, and many more, will create one-of-a-kind ensembles from six yards of African-made fabrics to be modelled on celebrities, entertainers and models.”

Kirk and Stephan have pulled it off again. While arriving to Greta Constantine, the much anticipated opening of Toronto Fashion season was exciting. The energy was buzzing and the place was packed with Celebrities, Socialites, bloggers and Industry insiders. Filling the seats we waited for the show to start. The show was beautiful with great clean lines; bold colors and what we know and love best about their clothes are clean and crisp draping. Event number 2 this week with the design duo Kirk and Stephen of Greta Constantine . The launch was fantastic with well dapper people, drinks following and great music. Primer is a Capsule collection ranging from $95 to $275. The MMVA AFTER PARTY’S
The night was a smashing success, with Lady Gaga giving us her all in that amazing performances and the amazing Canadian talent sweeping up the awards. After the awards I attended the after party’s put on by Much Music VJ’S at Ultra Club and then went over to the Mac Viva Glam party at This is London hosted by Flare Magazine. The night was a great but one thing is for sure we are starting to see a lot of Black McGrath what is in store for the year to come? Check out who I spotted and hung out with at some of these great after parties.
