A couple weeks ago I attended Whitney Linens showroom launch. I have worked with Whitney Westwood creator of Whitney Linen on various occasions on the launch and sales of her line. Her pieces have an amazing array of colour and are really great for summer or traveling.
“The launch of Whitney Linen is inspired by European elegance and style, It is comprised of a 15-pieace women’s collection with a selection of men’s line and luxurious home décor pieces including be spoke table linens in an array of colours all detailed with the signature WL monogram finish” Said Whitney
Her pieces are really fashionable and I really love how many different colours she has used. To check her stuff out for retail or interested in buying you can email Whitney Westwood at firstname.lastname@example.org and check out the launch of the showroom below
“Linen is an eco-friendly material free of petro-chemical components. A breathable body-cooling fabric, ideal for extreme climates, flax is the strongest natural fiber. Many cultures pass heirloom pieces down from generation to generation. For centuries linen has been a wardrobe staple embraced by European culture. “I have spent much time in Europe and have watched elegant men and women, dressed in linen, walking the cobbled streets of France and Italy. They look so chic.”, Whitney says describing her attraction to the raw fiber.”

This collection was showcased last Thursday at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. The Fall/Winter 2012 line has great colour blocking and an eclectic mix. Prim pleats and fur detail which was great to see this season, also it was good to see that they have gotten away from the black and grey by adding more detail and great colour. This collection has a very innovative approach to Fall/Winter 2012.

Last week was the grand opening of Calvin Klein’s newest freestanding store in the Fairview Mall. The new store which spans over 6100 square feet is offering a full range of men and women’s apparel, jeans wear, underwear, accessories, eye-wear and fragrances. Calvin Klein’s Global Creative Director, Kevin Carrigan and president and CEO Tom Murry were also there to celebrate the grand opening. So if you happen to be at the Fairview Mall check out the new Calvin Klein store in the eastern corner or the mall. Also watch out for the opening of 40 more stores in the next 5 years.
It has been three weeks since I began using this new product which I received in the mail. I try using different products because I have problems with my skin from time to time. As I began using this product I discovered how good it was. My usual routine is putting a serum, day and night cream and I also use eye cream. When I received this product I was sort of weary about it as I tend not to like all-in-one products, but this one actually works. It has not caused me any discomfort or any made me have any bad reactions to it. My skin feels great; it is crazy to think that one product can work for all different Face treatments and it only cost $120. Make sure to check outwww.mereadesso.com for this product and so many other great ones.

When I was younger I hated this time of the year when my mother would make me put on my ugly pair of boots. Although they were really warm and my feet were always dry on those cold days, they were big and clunky and I hated wearing them. Over the years I noticed how Sorel has really improved in the styling of their products and how the boots are more fashionable, but still have the warmth and dryness we have come to know and love from Sorel boots. During our Canadian winters nothing is better than a nice pair of Sorel’s to keep the cold at bay. I love these new boots that Sorel has sent me to help keep my toes toasty and make me look great during those piercing cold days.
Their new collection of boots is exceptional and the Women’s collection has so many superb boots with many different styles to choose from. The entire collection of men’s, women’s and children’s boots come in the price range from 40$ to $300 dollars. Check out their new collection below and you will probably find something to suit your needs. Thank you to Sorel for my new boots that are going to keep my toes warm and very stylish for the winter.

Two weeks ago I got the chance to work on this wonderful event and run the Giles Deacon show and other backstage duties. The British designer was in town showing his collection for the event Lunch with Margaret and George. George and Lisa Corbo the owners of George C one of Toronto’s hottest designer’s boutiques for stylish men and women in Yorkville has partnered with the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation raise money for the Gattuso Rapid Diagnostic Centre. While I was busy backstage with Mac Cosmetics and Alcorn Salon making sure all the models were runway ready for the show, the guests were treated to a Champagne cocktail followed by a sumptuous lunch at theScarpetta restaurant at the Thompson Toronto Hotel. This sold out event raised $200,000 which was just marvelous.
“In 2009 Princess Margaret Hospital’s breast cancer rapid diagnostic centre received a $12.5 million donation from Emmanuelle Gattuso and Allen Slaight, who have since matched donations dollar for dollar towards the $25 Million expansion campaign. The couple’s fundraising campaign is part of the inspiration behind Lunch with Margaret and George.”
The event was a smashing success and the show went off without a hitch. I was so lucky to have worked this event, meet great people and work for a great cause. The next day I helped do Giles Deacon PR while he did some interviews at his Trunk Show at George C in Yorkville. Giles was such a pleasure to work with and a very warm loving personality with a great talent. One thing is for sure his collection was out of this world and nothing I have seen or ever worked with before. I would like to thank Leesa Butler for giving me the opportunity to work this fantastic event. Also George and Lisa Corbo deserve a big thank you for putting this great event on for a great cause with a very talented designer.

Wow Jean-Pierre really knows how to put a collection together; it was just out of this world. So unique from the stilettos to the fish tail braids and these impeachable pieces that fit the models frame. The way he uses geometric shapes and makes it so ready to wear but so elegant with a little edge is just wonderful and positively fantastic.
“These pieces are not for your typical lady my label is very high fashion, Avant guard and I am very inspired by sex, drugs and rock and roll but yet I always make sure in all my pieces of my collection are made to make a women look sexy” Jean-Pierre.
No wonder we have been seeing his stuff all over the internet and in magazines like Vogue. Jean-Pierre knows the women’s shape with this collection which fits the models frame so well that you can see their amazing figure and curves with great edge. This is one designer to keep an eye on and it’s a great way to start day two.
Well what can I say about Todd Lynn that we already don’t know? He is a genius when it comes to his collections; he is a favorite to all. With his rock and roll vibe in his collection you can see why he dresses people like U2-Bono, Mick Jagger, and Keith Richards. This spring/summer collection was a mix of women and men’s. Todd Lynn collaborated with Louboutin to create cage like hybrid bootees that every women in the front row wanted to get their hands on. He also collaborated with Shaun Leane to make some pin-inspired jewellery that was on some of the jackets and other pieces in the collection. The colors were very pale with grey, white and taupe, also we seen a lot of electric blues throughout. Todd Lynn is a master to what he does and we are so lucky to have a designer like that we can call Canadian.
Thank you to Desia from Brill Communication and Paola and her company Paola Fullerton Inc. for putting on such a great event.
Lucian Matis show night was just brilliant and breathtaking. I always love seeing his shows because I always see a hint of McQueen, but in his own unique Matis way. His collection was so well put together and you can really see how well he knows a woman’s body and how the pieces flow to show off the woman’s amazing shape. From all the Fashion weeks up to now and all the shows for Spring/Summer 2010 we are really seeing some really bold colours and I am really excited to see how it will all pan out. I hope you enjoy the video and pictures below and fall in love with this BRILLIANT collection. Also we cannot forget Candice and Alison luxury events always know how to put on a great event or show!!

Kirk and Stephan have pulled it off again. While arriving to Greta Constantine, the much anticipated opening of Toronto Fashion season was exciting. The energy was buzzing and the place was packed with Celebrities, Socialites, bloggers and Industry insiders. Filling the seats we waited for the show to start. The show was beautiful with great clean lines; bold colors and what we know and love best about their clothes are clean and crisp draping. I hope you enjoy the pictures I took sitting front row and watch out for these amazing clothes to make a splash this Spring/Summer 2012
